YoWindow is a nice weather application (and online tool). It takes the concept of "looking out the window" and stretches it a bit. A pastoral animated landscape reflects the current weather in your location, or in any other location that you select. The Web app correctly found my location.
There's a slider on top of the image that you can drag to see the forecast (as well as past weather, although I'm not sure why that's a useful feature). The slider shows sunset and sunrise times, and when you drag it over those times, you get a neat animation, and the landscape changes accordingly. You can also click on day icons right below the slider and extend the forecast up to four days into the future. When you select a different location, the application doubles as a world clock, and you can see the exact remote time and weather conditions.
The handiest button is on the lower-right corner; that's the full-screen button. If you try the tool, be sure to click it. The experience is completely different in full-screen mode; it's really nice to look at. I wish it would stay in full-screen on my secondary monitor, though. It's only full-screen as long as you don't click anywhere.
