CaptureFOX is a pretty sweet Windows-only screen recorder add-on for Firefox. It's not perfect; the biggest drawback, in my mind at least, is that you can record video in up to 5fps.

Two third-party applications have received important updates recently, itrickz is pleased to inform. Yazsoft’s Speed Download Lite 1.1.16 adds better handling of GRX files and other tweaks and fixes, while Transmission 1.93 brings nothing but bug fixes, but a truckload of them.

Rumors are swirling that 3D desktop interface Canadian startup BumpTop
has been acquired by Google. We started getting tips yesterday pointing to a now-deleted Tweet from a Canadian VC saying Google had acquired them. When I called CEO Anand Agarawala on Friday to ask if BumpTop was acquired, he responded, “Not that I know of.” But today, there is a notice on BumpTop’s homepage saying that it will discontinue its current products and has a big announcement coming:
